Il programma funzionale per il nuovo centro di Comunità Nuova-Don Gino Rigoldi, e la necessità di immettere nella struttura attività tra loro differenti, ha comportato una riflessione sulle modalità di insediamento dei nuovi volumi nell’area. La scelta progettuale più appropriata è parsa quella di collocare ogni attività in corpi separati, in grado di rispondere nel modo più adeguato alle specifiche richieste.
Un percorso coperto pone in comunicazione diretta i vari edifici e costituisce un anello continuo con la duplice funzione di racchiudere uno spazio interno, che deve essere anche un luogo protetto, e di connettersi con l’ambiente circostante in una relazione visiva permeabile ed osmotica, quale deve essere quella di una comunità realmente aperta al territorio e dialogante con la società in cui è inserita. Lo spazio a verde interno – dove sono presenti orti, giochi, aree per mangiare all’aperto – diviene un luogo rappresentativo dell’incontro e del dialogo, espressione del messaggio umanitario e sociale di Comunità Nuova.
The functional programme for the new centre for Comunità Nuova – Don Gino Rigoldi, together with the need to allow different activities within the structure, has led to reflection upon the ways of settling the new volumes into the area. The most appropriate planning choice appeared that of allocating each activity to a separate section, able to respond as adequately as possible to the specific requirements. A covered passageway links directly the various buildings and constitutes a continuous ring that serves the twofold purpose of enclosing an indoor space, which must also be a protected place, and connect to the surrounding environment in a visual and osmotic relationship – which must exist in a community truly open to the territory and in constant dialogue with the society within which it lives. The inner green space – lined with vegetable patches, play areas and picnic spots – becomes a place of meeting and dialogue, true expression of the humanitarian and social message of Comunità Nuova.
