Il progetto mantiene inalterate le linee e gli ingombri dell’edificio esistente, facendo percepire gli ampliamenti come nuovi volumi che fuoriescono dal capannone attuale: verso l’alto a contenere un piano completamente nuovo e sul fronte principale a formare una terrazza esterna e la copertura dell’autorimessa sottostante. Anche i materiali utilizzati evidenziano questa differenziazione: l’esistente è in mattoni pieni faccia a vista recuperati o reintegrati, mentre i nuovi volumi sono rivestiti in lamiera grecata di colore grigio antracite e sui fianchi in pannelli di policarbonato in colore opale; tutte le coperture sono rivestite in pannelli di zinco-titanio. E’ realizzato un piano seminterrato ad uso autorimessa a cui si accede tramite un’ampia rampa posta sul retro dell’edificio e di pari larghezza.

The project keeps unaltered the lines and the spaces of the existing building, letting the expansions be perceived as new volumes that jut out from the current warehouse: upwards so as to contain a brand-new floor and on the main front to create an outdoor terrace and cover the underlying garage. Even the materials used highlight this differentiation: the existing building is made with exposed brickwork, while the new volumes are covered with a charcoal grey corrugated sheet and on the sides with opal-coloured polycarbonate slates; all the panels are in turn covered with zinc-and-titanium panes. A garage makes up the new basement floor, accessible through a wide ramp running the length of the building on the back.
